UE5 3D survival Sims/Rimworld inspired game
This is my current video game project i’m working on.
Everything is handmade except quixel art assets like rocks and trees, also using meta humans.
My main focus was working on Ai behaviors that will be automatable like Rimworld or/and Sims where they have their own needs system and traits, you will be able to asign jobs to each ai pawn and they will implement the jobs you asign to them for example: adding a woodcutter job to a pawn will make him able to walk around and cut trees that the player marked as cuttable.
In the prograss of making the game a lot of important side features were added as well like custom RTS mouse panning and WASD movement and zoom, there is also a UI that works as a stack ( for example if you go to the main menu it adds the main menu ui on top of the stack and shows it, once the player exits the menu it removes it from the stack )
So what features are actually completed?
Camera movement ( WASD )
Edge screen panning
Camera Rotation ( with holding middle mouse and moving mouse 270°)
Zoom in and out
Day/Night system with a clock and date
Save and Load system
UI that uses a stack pattern
PCG that spawns smart objects that the ai can interact with
AI with behavior tree that searches through a quarry for smart objects and uses the appropriate gameplay behavior
Using the UI to communicate with the world like selecting trees to be cuttable
Needs system ( Hunger, Energy, Fun, Bladder)
Tag system ( hungry, sleepy, bored, scared )
Pause Menu
Features in progress:
Adding Meta Humans ( 90% )
Inventory system ( 5% )
Animations ( 0% )
